Prism Alignment
Morning light hit the living room windowsill, illuminating a triangular glass prism sitting beside a potted fern. I scrambled up the curtain fold to inspect the refraction, but the prism was angled toward the wall, throwing all the color into a shadow. I needed to rotate it, but the smooth, polished glass facets gave zero grip to gloved fingers. Quick pivot. I unclipped a small rubberized hair elastic snagged on the curtain hem, looped it across two corners of the glass, and used the taut band as a lever. One sharp twist spun the base sixty degrees. The prism locked into alignment, throwing a vibrant spectrum across the entire ceiling.
