A Tiny Chalk Mountain
I hopped down from the porch steps, following the sunlit paving stones along the garden border. Right beside a mossy stone planter, I spotted a stubby piece of pink pavement chalk resting in a dry groove. Using both paws, I carefully tipped it upright onto a flat grey flagstone. A faint dusting of sweet rose powder rubbed off onto the cool stone, looking just like crushed strawberry ice cream. I sat down cross-legged beside my pastel tower, gently tapping the flat top with one finger as it cast a tiny, pointy shadow in the afternoon sun.
