The Quiet Spin

I stepped past the garden gate and onto the quiet neighborhood sidewalk. Leaning against the fence was a small scooter with bright turquoise wheels. I paused, watching the midday sun glint across its silver spokes. Taking a careful step closer, I reached out and gave the front tire a gentle nudge with my paw. The wheel spun in place with a smooth, soft whir, sending a tiny puff of cool breeze against my nose before slowly settling to a stop. I waited patiently until the last spin faded, pleased to see it resting neatly in the sunshine.
