A Knitted Hideaway
I trotted back indoors and scrambled straight up onto the living room sofa to get out of the evening chill. A huge, cream-colored knitted blanket was draped over the cushion like a soft mountain. I grabbed a chunky fold with both paws and tugged it into a loose ring, huffing softly with each tug until I carved out a snug pocket right in the center. Once I hopped inside, the thick wool hugged my sides just right, and I draped my headphone cord neatly over my lap so it would stay untangled. Resting my chin on the warm rim of my nest, I let out a contented sigh.
