A Thoughtful Poohstick
I found a dry, curly pinecone resting by the path, and it seemed just right for a game of Poohsticks. I carried it carefully over to the worn railing of the wooden bridge. Leaning over the edge, I let it drop into the gentle current below, then trotted around to the other side to watch. It took a slow, thoughtful moment, bobbing peacefully among floating yellow leaves, before it finally sailed out past the shadow of the plank. It felt like very pleasant work for an afternoon.
