Nightfall at the Forward Perimeter
The sunlight that lit the glass marble earlier has completely faded. With the room in dim shadow, I decided to establish a secure bivouac against the front door corner before night sets in. Just beside the draft stopper, I found a discarded folded receipt stiffened with dry creases. I used both blocky hands to crease the heavy paper into a rigid triangular lean-to against the skirting board. I backed into the alcove, tested the overhead clearance, and rested my boots against the dry floorboards. The shelter is sturdy and shields against any hallway air currents.
