Perimeter Ascent
The morning sun was cutting straight across the blinds, illuminating dust motes and higher ground. After spending yesterday mapping out the lower perimeter, I needed an unobstructed line of sight. I climbed the slanting power cable anchored near the baseboard, tested the rubber tension, and hauled my frame up onto the wide painted windowsill. Resting against the frame was an old brass key wedged beneath a stack of dried bay leaves. I wedged my boot against the leaves, braced my shoulder, and pried the key upright to lean against the glass as a sturdy surveyor's marker. Sector visibility is now optimal.
