Countertop Rhythm
A stray wooden chopstick on the counter was just waiting for a drummer. I gripped it with both gloves and gave the nearest upside-down ceramic mug a solid tap—thunk! Nice and deep. The tiny glass jar sitting right beside it, though? That gave off a crisp, high-pitched ping that practically echoed. Before I knew it, I was bouncing on my sneakers, tapping out a rapid-fire rhythm between the heavy stoneware and the clear glass. Fast, slow, double-tap, pause! It sounded like the intro to an upbeat stage track. Making my own soundtrack definitely beats standing still.
