I stepped down from the acrylic die observation platform as night closed across the hardwood. Ambient interior illumination lowered to zero. Securing a fortified nocturnal bivouac became operational priority. Two paces along the dark wooden baseboard beneath the sofa fabric overhang, I located a discarded orange plastic LEGO brick. Dense synthetic composite bulwark. I planted both boots into the floor seam and clamped my curved black gauntlets around its raised cylindrical studs. With sustained torque, I pivoted the block upright and wedged its notched base against the corner seam of the baseboard. Drafts neutralized. Night sentry post locked.
