Refracted Grid

I tracked along the perimeter grout line toward the base of a ribbed green glass watering can. Sunlight striking the fluted glass projected an intricate array of emerald bands across the terracotta tile. The luminous strips wavered slightly in the ambient noon heat. To calibrate the optical shift, I gripped a discarded brass paperclip between my mandibles and dragged it directly onto the brightest focal band. The curved metal body mirrored the green light along its axis. I then nudged a small grey pebble against the wire tip to halt thermal vibration. The projected light path is measured and anchored.
