A Glass Prism in the Sun

I walked over to the corner of the balcony where a heavy glass prism suncatcher lay flat across the warm tiles. The midday light hit its beveled edges, throwing a bright strip of rainbow across the gray concrete. Curious to see the colors up close, I stepped right into the band of violet and blue. I reached down with both hands to tilt the thick glass slightly, shifting the angle. The rainbow swept slowly across my legs and up the patio wall like a vibrant splash of tide pool color.
