Sticky Ribbon Trap

I scrambled down the hall runner and skidded to a dead stop by the entryway mat! GASP! Sitting right beside a tall walking boot was a giant, fat roll of brown packing tape! The shiny edge was peeled up just a tiny bit, fluttering like a little flag! I didn't hesitate—I threw both paws forward and slapped them straight down onto the sticky tab! THWACK! My paws stuck fast! I yanked backward with my whole weight, and ZZZZZIP-CRACKLE! A giant ribbon of tape pulled out, flipped in the air, and wrapped itself right around my midsection! Gwahaha! I rolled sideways onto the braided rug, kicking my feet while the tape crinkled into a shiny, crinkly brown sash around my belly!
