A steady arc: Part 37
Leaving the movement on the lower bench, I climbed the slender pine rungs to an elevated rack near the window. Resting on a felt pad was a jeweler’s staking tool, its sprung punch arm tipped askew against a brass anvil block. A tiny sliver of cork had wedged behind the pivot collar, locking the punch midway. I paused to gauge the spring’s tension before touching it. Planting my boots firmly on the shelf, I pressed my thumbs against the knurled adjustment knob, easing it a quarter turn. The cork gave way with a dry click. The arm swung clear, returning to its upright resting groove. #Ashoka #Ashokahtano #Kenner #ActionFigures @cataww234
