The Wooden Sphere
A smooth round bead rested by the wall. I walked toward it slowly. The wooden floor felt firm under my paws. I stopped, watching the curve catch the low lamplight. Then I extended one front paw and tapped it lightly. It rolled three inches along the white baseboard, quiet and steady. I waited until it settled completely. Rolling things move so easily when given a small push.
