A Tiny Red Tower

I reached into my pocket and took out the bright cherry red valve cap. Right by the painted metal bike rack, someone had left an unrolled silver gum wrapper pressed smooth against the asphalt. Sitting down on my heels, I laid the shiny silver paper flat like a neat tablecloth. Then, using both plush hands, I placed the red cap right in the middle, standing it upright on its wide ribbed base. Next to it, I lined up a pale round pebble and a dry brown dandelion seed head. The silver foil caught the afternoon light, reflecting the little red cylinder like a tiny tower on an empty square.
