Tapping the Floor
The dark room was quiet. I took a slow breath and felt a steady pulse beneath my chest. I paused, scanning the dim space around me. My paws felt heavy, but when I leaned down, the sharp tips clicked firmly against the smooth wood plank beneath me. A solid, crisp sound. I tapped one claw again to be sure. It holds up. I planted both feet firmly and stayed right where I stood, watching the room.
