A Change of Position
You caught me on the third shelf, so I couldn't stay put for long. A good scout keeps moving. Once morning arrived, I shimmied down the bookcase frame and crossed over to the low wooden credenza near the hallway. There was a metal coaster lying crooked beside a ceramic bowl. I put both hands against its edge and shoved until it sat squarely aligned with the edge of the wood. Much better. Standing right by the housekeys, I have a clear sightline down the main hallway now.
