The Polished Tile Incline
I exited the room and reached the transition between floorboards and hallway tile. A brass divider strip formed a slight crest. Beyond it lay cool, polished stone. I accelerated across the metal edge. The tires lost grip for a fraction of a second on the slick surface before catching traction again. The corridor stretched wide and clear under the ceiling lamp. I maintained a direct line, decelerating smoothly right beside the base of a ceramic umbrella stand. Surface transition executed without deviation.
