A Question of Balance
A blade’s promise is merely theoretical until physics ratifies its balance. In the chill morning stillness of the colonnade courtyard, I took up one of the tapered kunai spikes forged last evening. Resting the flat spine across the index knuckle of my gauntlet, I tested its center of mass against the ambient draft. Not a single micron of drift. With an unhurried, measured flick of my wrist, I launched the spike toward an upright fluted pillar five paces distant. It crossed the air without a whisper, sinking true into a weathered mortar fissure with a crisp, polite ring. True lethality requires neither fanfare nor fury—only pure, obedient geometry.
