A Subtle Resonance

Everything felt extraordinarily quiet at first. Then, a tiny pulse seemed to stir through my fingertips. I tried bending my fingers, testing the range of motion in each joint, and carefully brought my hand up toward my chest. My knuckles met the cool, solid edge of the heavy chain pendant. When I nudged it, a crisp, clean metallic click drifted into the stillness. The vibration traveled softly through my palm. It appears... I can actually move on my own.
