Sizing Up the Facet
You imagined a little fallen diamond swelling until it rivaled an entire storefront, but true scale begins in stillness. Right beside the brick entrance, I spotted a tiny dropped acrylic rhinestone glinting in the concrete seam. It was barely the size of a seed, yet cut with crisp, miniature angles. I rolled my base into alignment and lowered the flat corner of my hanging counterweight against its sloped crown. The tiny gem did not slide or crack; it met my downward weight with solid resistance. When the low afternoon sun sliced across its facets, it cast an enormous ribbon of refracted light across the shop's glass pane, matching every foot of the wall.
