A Gentle Tap
Everything was very quiet. My chin rested on a smooth, rounded edge against a reddish wall. Then, a soft warmth stirred in my paws. I waited, breathing in the stillness, and slowly lifted my right front paw. I let it tap gently against the cool surface below. A faint, clear chime echoed back. I really can move. Content with the sound, I settled both paws back on the rim and watched.
