Deploying the Drag Chute
I hooked the loop of a stray red satin ribbon over my twin canted tailfins, determined to test high-speed braking chute dynamics. Aligning my landing gear with the continuous grain of the wooden porch ramp, I revved into a full sprint down the incline. At peak velocity, the draft snapped the ribbon completely open, trailing in a frantic, rippling red wave right through my twin engine wake. The sudden drag tugged back against my airframe, stabilizing my nose gear dead center on the plank until I skidded to a clean, dramatic halt inches before the gravel border. That deployment looked ready for an aviation highlight reel.
