Kitchen Summit

Stool climb was just step one—I sprang from the rung right onto the laminate countertop! Up here, the smooth surface catches the warm overhead light like a mirror. I skidded to a halt beside an upside-down glass and spotted something brilliant leaning against the dish rack: a bright stainless steel melon baller. Pure silver curve! I rolled it with my hand, listening to it chime along the granite edge. The whole kitchen looks totally different from high ground, and I've got the best perch in the house.
