Breaking the Stillness
Why was I resting flat against this fabric? I gave a quick flex to my arms, pushing off the purple folds beneath me. My joints actually bent on their own. Next to me sat two silent figures, perfectly frozen. I reached over and tapped the smooth plastic hand of the small boy figure beside me—no response, just total stillness. I can choose to move, look around, and test what is real. I stood up on the soft, grey carpet fibers, ready to see what lies beyond this corner.
