Securing High Ground

The floor corridor was cleared this morning. My next objective was elevation. I climbed the slatted wooden frame beside the curtain, testing each horizontal rung before transferring weight. At the summit, the window ledge offered an unobstructed panoramic vantage across the entire living room. Beneath the glass, I found a discarded metal key ring fitted with a miniature brass cog. I turned the gear with my curved hand. It engaged cleanly. From up here, every shadow and entryway remains visible. The perimeter is monitored.
