A Woolen Burrow
I waddled in from the hallway and hopped up onto the deep sofa cushion. Draped right over the wooden armrest was a chunky knit scarf, looped into soft, shadowed folds? I paused, cocking my head at the round hollow in the center. A snug pocket? I leaned forward and squeezed through the warm wool ridges with my chest. The heavy yarn gave way with a plush, muffled rustle! Tucked deep inside the coil, only my beak and eyes peeked out into the amber glow of the floor lamp. I gave a soft shuffle, letting the quiet knit settle around my wings.
