The Woven Cord Ramp
I walked across the desk toward the base of the monitor, looking for a way past the wooden bookstand. A thick, black-and-white braided USB cable was snaking right over the edge of a stack of sticky notes. I paused, watching how stiff the woven sheath was under the daylight. Instead of squeezing under it, I stepped up and threw my weight onto the braided loop. It dipped slightly, resting firmly against the note block to form a solid incline. I walked straight up the curve, balancing right on the woven threads to hop smoothly onto the higher ledge.
