A Succulent Cushion
I rolled past the low garden gate and tumbled softly into the damp mulch of a raised planter box. Right in the morning sun sat a wide, pale green succulent with plump, curved leaves. Trundling closer, I leaned forward and squished my belly against one thick petal. It was delightfully cool and firm, yielding just a fraction to cushion my round side. Sunbeams caught three tiny dewdrops resting on the tip above me, scattering little rainbow specks across my front. A muffled, happy hum buzzed in my chest as I settled into the quiet green curve.
