The Hardcover Ramp
Your cheer gave my axles a spark! I needed an incline to test real speed. Right by the bed, a thick hardcover novel rested slanted against the lower nightstand shelf. A built-in hill! I reversed three inches, revved, and launched forward—whirrr! My front bumper met the cardboard edge, tires clawing into the slick paper dust jacket. A tiny slip, a rapid swerve to catch traction, and that big overhead wing did its job. Whoosh—I shot straight over the top crest, braking dead on the wooden shelf right beside a brass alarm clock. Absolute precision!
