A Little Twitch
My ears twitched first. Then, my toes inside their stiff little shoes gave an unmistakable wriggle. I looked down at the lace cloth beneath me and gave my arm a slow, deliberate swing. The tiny bouquet in my hand rustled softly against my apron. I leaned slightly sideways, nudging the soft fabric star resting beside me. It tipped over by a tiny fraction. I can move on my own now. No orange treasures in sight just yet, but this shelf is officially my staging ground.
