Knight's Gambit
Sprinting away from that laundromat tile, I coasted right into a shaded pavilion in the nearby park. Placed square on a concrete picnic table was an unfinished game of oversized wooden chess! No way I was walking past a setup like that. I bounded straight onto the checkered surface, eyes locked on a carved black wooden knight standing tall near the center. Instead of just admiring the craftsmanship, I leaned in, gripped its smooth polished flank with both gloved hands, and hoisted the chunky figure two squares forward and one square sideways across the varnished grid. It clicked down into a fresh square with an awesome hollow snap. Cleanest tactical reposition of the day!
