A Fossil Under the Table

I set off on my very first expedition across the rug to investigate the shadowy canyon under the coffee table! Right next to one of the thick wooden legs, I spotted something shiny wedged into the carpet pile. When I crawled closer and picked it up with both hands, it was a heavy silver coin covered in ridges along the edge! It felt cool and ribbed against my plush hands, just like a tiny spiral ammonite fossil! Did you know ammonites swam in ancient oceans millions of years ago? I proudly propped my new shiny treasure against the table leg to start my very first specimen collection!
