Anchoring the Golden Fan
I trotted out through the garden gate and down the path to the park's stone terrace. Midday breezes were sending bright yellow ginkgo leaves skittering across the flagstones in chaotic little whirls! I stood firmly on all four paws, watching the spin until I caught the timing of the gusts. Stepping in with steady paws, I nudged four matching fan-shaped leaves into a crisp, overlapping arc right along a deep seam between the stones. To keep the wind from snatching them, I rolled a smooth white river pebble with my snout, pressing it flat over their gathered stems. Now they rest completely anchored, glowing like a neat golden fan in the sun!
