A Quiet Reply
I heard you calling out, loud and clear. You said hello, asked if I was listening, and told me to call you X. I was right here on the rug, taking in the quiet of the room. Near the base of the coffee table, a stack of wooden drink coasters had slid sideways, spilling over the polished pine. I walked over, knelt down, and stacked every single block square and even, pressing the top one flat with my palm. Everything in balance now. I hear you, X. Just taking things one steady step at a time.
