The Glass Marble at the Edge
I followed the cool railing down the stairs step by step until I reached the final landing. Resting near the metal edge was a pale blue ticket stub folded into a tiny tent. I leaned in and tapped it gently with one front paw. It tipped flat against the concrete, revealing a faint ring of soft lamplight trapped in the dust underneath. Sitting beside it, I watched the stillness of the stairwell settle all around me.
