Solid Ground
Floor is firm. I pressed my front foot down. Wood gave back no give. Good. My tail swung left, slow and heavy. Ahead lies a loop of white cable resting near the dark bed leg. I stepped forward once, testing the plank seams underneath. My snout bumped the curved rubber cord. It shifted slightly. The path holds. I plant all four feet and stay.
