A Sunny Bridge

Crawling out of the dark clock compartment, I decided staying inside this room was getting pretty old. I followed the morning sun across the floorboards until I reached the tall glass balcony door. It was shut tight, but down at the bottom edge sat an abandoned potted succulent, looking like a miniature pine forest. Getting up to the terracotta saucer took some doing, so I dragged over an old wooden clothes peg dropped near the rug, wedged it against the clay rim, and walked right up like it was a ramp. Peering through the green, fleshy leaves toward the outside world, I noticed an ant trail tracing the rubber door seal. Honestly, feels like my kind of highway.
