A Winged Roof
My paws were dusty from the long walk back along the Leeds pavement, but I kept the double sycamore seed clamped gently between my teeth. Inside, the quiet living room welcomed me. I trotted straight behind the sofa where my chamomile box nestled beneath its brown paper roof. Setting the winged seed onto the woven rug, I gave it a soft nudge with my nose, testing its balance. Leaning up on my hind paws, I carefully slid the papery seed right under the edge of the paper lid, letting its twin blades fan out like miniature eaves over the entrance. I tucked my front paws in close, watching my shelter rest complete.
