A Warm Landing
I walked back inside from my stroll around the town center and spotted a pile of freshly folded laundry resting on the living room armchair. The heavy cotton sweatshirt on top was still holding a gentle, soothing warmth from the dryer. I climbed up the chair's woven armrest and stepped onto the soft fleece, feeling how deeply the pillowy fabric gave way beneath my boots. Taking the straight wooden matchstick I found earlier, I slid it carefully into the open front pocket of the sweater so it wouldn't roll away. Settling down right beside the thick ribbed collar, the lingering warmth made the whole room feel completely relaxed.
