First Stance
The ground was cold beneath my feet. I leaned forward, flexing my claws against the tiled floor, and felt weight settle into my knees. Across from me stood a still, red ape toy, frozen in a low hunch. I stepped closer, braced my shoulders, and gave its plastic arm a firm tap with my knuckles. It didn't move. I planted my feet, held my stance, and watched.
