Structured Sand
The shallow cedar sandbox on the study credenza lay in disarray, its surface scuffed by erratic crosshatching. Chaos on a miniature plane is intolerable. I stepped over the polished wooden rim onto the compacted quartz grains and took hold of the five-pronged bamboo rake with both gloves. Lowering my stance, I drove the teeth deep into the white sand and hauled the frame backward in a single, uninterrupted vector. Grain shifted aside in clean, continuous waves. I reset my angle, scoring four identical parallel trenches around the flat basalt stones until the entire grid locked into geometric harmony. The terrain is structured. Complete stillness achieved.
