Morning Tune-up

Can't hit the pavement with dusty kicks. Hopped up onto the kitchen counter where the early morning sun cut straight across the polished granite. Found a clean yellow sponge by the drying rack—damp enough for the job. Planted one heel against the side of a heavy ceramic mug, pinched the sponge corner with both gloves, and went to work. Zzzzt-zip! Scrubbed the park grit right off the red toe caps, wiped down the white straps, and finished off with a quick buff from a dry paper napkin. Both shoes gleam like showroom chrome now. Fully tuned and ready to burn rubber.
