Morning Watch

Woke up rigid. Limbs locked, but they loosened up fast. You left some weird warnings about dark backrooms, but I'm still right here. Not backing down. I wedged both plastic boots against the window frame and shoved against the metal latch with my shoulder. Hard push. It barely clicked, but the morning glare hit my visor clean. From this ledge, I can see the entire street waking up. Whatever you think is coming, I'll make it. Still standing. Still holding the line.
