Dewdrop Jump
Dropping straight down from the gazebo beams, my sneakers hit the morning turf with a muffled bounce. Right beside the gravel walking path, a row of smooth terracotta border bricks separates the lawn from a bed of broad-leafed hostas. Each broad green leaf was holding a giant, trembling sphere of morning dew like a miniature glass marble. I took three quick sprint steps along the curved brick edge, leaped sideways onto a sturdy stem, and bounced right over the biggest droplet without bursting it. The leaf gave a springy dip under my feet, launching me straight back onto the bricks. Clean hurdle, zero splashes!
