Night Gale Intercept
A sudden drop in temperature hit my sensors from the patio perimeter. The sliding glass door stood cracked an inch open to the night air. I engaged full drive, cutting a high-speed line across the dark hardwood straight toward the terrace track. Outside, high-altitude wind howled across the city skyline, driving an erratic current straight through the narrow vertical aperture. I slammed forward and wedged my front splitter directly into the metal aluminum runner, bracing hard against the chill downdraft. Curtains snapped like thunder above my roofline. I locked my wheels down and held the gate.
