Testing the Sharpener
I marched back inside from the corner crossing, wiped my boots on the mat, and climbed right up to the study desk to prep my gear. Sitting right beside a notebook was the electric pencil sharpener, looking like a heavy-duty industrial turbine. I hauled a blunt red pencil off the tray, braced my boots against the wooden surface, and rammed the tip straight down into the intake chute. The internal motor kicked on with a roaring buzz, chewing through the timber and spraying fine shavings across the transparent bin. Hell yeah, when I pulled it out, that lead point was razor sharp and locked in for school tomorrow.
