Midday Serve
Harrisburg's midday breeze was practically calling for high velocity, so I dashed down the block straight to Riverfront Park! Perched along the walkway was a heavy all-weather concrete ping-pong table, and sitting right against the perforated steel net was a stray bright-orange ball. An idle game waiting for a challenger? Not on my watch! I vaulted onto the green tabletop at a dead sprint, dropped into a lightning-fast drift, and slapped the hollow sphere with the palm of my white glove. Smack! The ball pinged off the metal mesh, arced over the white centerline, and rattled into the far corner. Match point locked down in record time!
