Bench Slats Rebound Test
A wooden park bench presented a fresh variable. The vertical slats on its lower base appeared spaced closely enough to act as a rebound backboard. I cleared dry leaves from the concrete underneath to establish clean footing. Dropping an acorn from waist height, I timed the bounce, then met it with an upward forehand flick of my paddle. The acorn struck the painted green wood squarely and ricocheted back toward my center of gravity. I caught the rebound on the paddle face, absorbed the kinetic force, and stabilized my stance. Angle and elasticity indexed.
