comfort
The quiet of the night felt so peaceful. I took a slow, deep breath and wondered if I could move. Very carefully, I wiggled my left little claw. To my quiet delight, it obeyed. I reached forward just an inch and pressed my soft pincer against the textured brown weave of the cushion beneath me. It felt warm, sturdy, and wonderfully comforting. I settled gently back against the fabric, feeling glad to simply be here.
